Walking to the ‘Small Sandy Beach,’ Khao Lak – Lam Ru National Park, Phang Nga | เดินเท้าเข้าหาดเล็ก อุทยานแห่งชาติ เขาหลัก ลำรู่ พังงา

It took us two days to get to this so-called ‘secret small beach’ or Had Lek at the Khao Lak – Lam Ru National Park in Phang Nga. The reason for that was that we drove past the entrance on the first day and to reverse the course was too daunting with the entrance being right in the middle of the downhill curve. So, we made plan for the next day when, once we got there, we found out there was a walking trail linking between the park’s main entrance and the beach’s entrance. We wished somebody had told us, hence this blog post and video.

So, Had Lek or Small Sandy Beach is another hot spot for those seeking the secluded beauty of a small beach in Phang Nga. This beach is a part of Khao Lak – Lam Ru National Park, but the easier access can be found about 500 metres south of the park’s main entrance. Please see the below map for deets.

You might see that the marker for the beach is a bit south of the marker for the park. And this is correct!! This is the time to believe the map. We went directly to the park’s main entrance on the first day only to learn that the beach is easier to access on that entrance (that we just missed for it being right in the middle of the downhill curve). So we made a plan for it the next day and this time, we made it. However, for those who are into hiking and some challenging terrains, there’s in fact a rugged, cliff-hugging path from the park’s main entrance to the beach. I asked around, and you’ll need to be on all fours at some parts of the way. So if that’s what you wish for in beach-going, go ahead and have some fun.

I have already written another blog post – a mini guide to Phang Nga, in case you need to use some directives in the area.
